Ypsi Township resident here -- resident for just under a year. Can you provide any guidance to the August primary?

Also, thank you -- I've written the trustees, *again,* expressing my opposition to the license plate readers. Do we have the option of recalling trustees? That might be a good way to reverse the decision if it goes the wrong way.

I have some friends/ allies in Ypsi Twp whose opinions would be more useful to you than mine. There are some crowded primary races though so I get it.

Based on input from those friends in Ypsi Twp, I like Justin Hodge in District County Commission and Jimmie Wilson Jr [Current Ypsi Twp Trustee] for State Rep.

i agree with your endorsements, but i am curious what your reasons are for supporting dharma akmon from the start of campaign season. what issues that matter to you most do you think she will be excellent on? i've met her a few times and knocked some doors for her, but i don't know the specifics on policies like some others might. thanks for all your work in putting this site together, it's a great resource!

Good question. We need housing of many types and I think Dharma will deliver better on zoning changes that will allow for more housing to be built. Her opponent is also pretty significantly ethically challenged [support for Hayner’s use of homophobic and racial slurs, baseless accusations of colleagues taking bribes for STR grandfathering, releasing confidential council info without permission].

I don’t think I will always agree with Dharma, but I believe she will deliberate in good faith. Her opponent prefers to trade in innuendo and accusations of malfeasance when confronted or criticized for the positions she takes instead of just accepting that not everyone is going to agree with her.
